Zur Absprache, ob Sie in der jeweiligen Klasse aufgenommen werden können, treten Sie bitte direkt mit dem Professor, in dessen Klasse Sie Gasthörer werden möchten, in Kontakt und besprechen Sie Ihr Vorhaben. Bitte senden Sie unaufgefordert keine Bewerbungsunterlagen online.
Nachdem Sie die Zusage des Professors haben, füllen Sie den Gasthörerantrag aus, der im Fachgruppensekretariat Architektur erhältlich ist und legen Sie einen Lebenslauf, zwei Fotos und ein Schreiben über ihre Beweggründe bei.
Der Klassenleiter entscheidet aufgrund ihrer Qualifikation und den Kapazitäten über eine Aufnahme für ein Semester, mit optionaler Verlängerung auf ein Jahr (ein Stipendium ist keine Aufnahmegarantie).

International Guest Students
The Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design receives a lot of interest from all over the world from students wishing to experience life as an exchange student for one or two semesters in Stuttgart. Our guest student program is a continuing education program that enables graduated students the opportunity to study at the academy without the pressure of taking examinations or pursuing a degree course.
If you are interested in studying as a guest student in our Master of Arts it is available in Architecture.
To become a guest listener for the winterterm you have to apply until the 30.06. ( or until the 15.01. for the summer term)
Please load your portfolio up on a file server and send an e-mail “letter of application” in which you explain your reasons to study at the Academy at one (choosen from you) of the following professors:

For your application the capacity in the class and your letter of application and your portefoilio will be decisive if you’ll be taken.
What is a Guest Student?
Guest students do not receive grades or accreditation and are not permitted to take part in examinations. As a guest student you may be enrolled for a maximum of two semesters and during your stay you are permitted and encouraged to participate in class activities and workshops at the academy, although first preference is given to fully enrolled and scholarship students.

Fees
As a guest student you are expected to pay a user fee of approx. 150 € per semester.
Other costs and responsibilities
It is important to note that as a guest student of the academy you are responsible for all practical and financial aspects of your stay in Stuttgart.
Visa
To avoid any nasty surprises on your arrival in Stuttgart you must check, before applying for a place as a Guest Student in Stuttgart, if the German Consulate in your country is able to grant you a visa for the period you will study here as guest.
Language requirements
All courses at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design are held in German. You are expected to have at least basic knowledges of German and to have a proficient level of English, both oral and written, in order to participate in courses and class work.
How to Apply
Applications may be submitted throughout the year. If you are applying for a study period of two semesters you must apply before the winter semester deadline for the full academic year which begins in October of every year. Deadlines are as follows:
Winter semester: 30st June
Summer semester: 15th January

The documents enclosed must be officially certified copies. Once all information has been received and your application has been accepted you will receive a certificate of registration. If a letter of acceptance is required from your home university, contact the Department Secretary for your area of study.
We will transfer then your application officially to the Admissions Office/Student Registrar’s Office – they will decide an inform you about. See below for contact details and opening times.
